About Tanisha Singh
I am a relational individual and a trauma-informed counsellor, gifted in creating a safe space for vulnerability to emerge. My strengths lie in recognizing and drawing out the potential in the people I meet and my ultimate goal is to blend my practical and academic knowledge to help build a more equal and just society.
I work with a variety of psychological concerns like trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, racial trauma, burnout, grief, meaninglessness/purposelessness, death anxiety, and boundary setting.
My specialty lies in working with survivors of trauma and clients belonging to the LGBTQ2IA+ community.
I am trained in Existential, Humanistic, Person-Centred, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. All my approaches emphasize on the connection that you and I can create within session as I believe “It is the relationship that heals” (Irvin Yalom).
I am also certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga with the use of which, we can together relieve the nervous system of it's misplaced trauma responses (fear, anxiety, past trauma symptoms) and facilitate holistic healing through the mind, the body, and the spirit. Read more about this here.
Through my work experiences in India and Canada, I have been trained to apply counselling theories and skills in a way that is vital to survivors of trauma in a cross-cultural context. My goal is to help my clients navigate the post-pandemic world while addressing the uprising of social discomfort with injustice in our society.
