About Sanjula Gupta
Trauma-Informed Therapist | Adults & Young Adults | Queer- and Neurodiversity-Affirming
I'm a trauma-informed therapist who works with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, identity concerns, academic or career stress, body image issues, grief and loss, and life transitions.
My approach is relational, reflective, and insight-oriented. I draw from Psychodynamic, Humanistic-Existential, and Narrative Therapy approaches, often integrating body-based work to support emotional healing. My practice is queer-affirmative, neurodiversity-informed, and rooted in social justice values.
Like many therapists, I grew into this work by being an empathetic listener early on. Through personal experiences with grief and loss, I discovered that psychology wasn’t just theory, but it helped me make sense of my own inner world. I continue to nurture that understanding through personal therapy, supervision, and reflection.
I see therapy as a co-created space - one where you feel safe, seen, and supported to explore your story at your own pace. As Edgar Levenson said, “It may not be the truth arrived at as much as the manner of arriving at the truth which is the essence of therapy.” I believe that meaningful change begins with a trusting relationship, the here and now, and that’s what I hope to offer you, without judgement.
