About Benjamin George
I believe that most of us are little kids in adult bodies, doing the best we can to feel safe. In the pursuit of safety, we’ve unconsciously (usually before age 10) developed coping mechanisms like perfectionism, people-pleasing, overthinking, and a relentless inner critic. These helped us survive, but often at the cost of disconnection, exhaustion, and emotional numbness. My mission is to support you in living from a place of intention and agency rather than compulsion and survival.
As a boy, I learned early that vulnerability wasn’t safe, that being sensitive or emotional made me “less than”. After losing both my parents in my early 20s, I threw myself into achievement, distraction and substance use, hoping to outrun my grief. What I found instead was burnout, depression and a shell of myself. Therapy gave me permission to slow down, feel what I’d buried, and reconnect with my inner world. Now, I see healing not as fixing what's broken, but as remembering what was lost, our aliveness, our agency, and our inherent worth.
My approach blends Western psychology with yogic philosophy, inner child work, somatic healing, and mindfulness. I offer a relational, nonjudgmental space where all parts of you - even the messy, scared, or angry ones - are welcome. As a South Asian man navigating both spiritual and cultural expectations, I bring deep respect for how identity, family dynamics, and intergenerational survival strategies shape our inner worlds.
Some of my areas of focus have been - Grief & loss, Shame & Fear of abandonment, Perfectionism & People Pleasing, Procrastination & Burnout, Inner Critic & Emotional Suppression, Inner Child Work & Re-parenting, Anxiety, Depression, Life transitions, ADHD, Nervous System Regulation, Cultural Identity, Spiritual Integration & Intergenerational Trauma, Boundaries, Relationship Struggles & Authentic Self-Expression.
